Can us taxpayers now keep and share in the leftover change?

There's no "change," just a $780 Billion tab that needs to be paid....until the next economic stimulus bill comes along--which will be later in the year, and we'll have to pay that one too.

Just to be clear...

All the Dems have done is to strip away two Republicans to take the support beyond the point where any more debate or talk has to take place. The bill still has to be voted on, and at last count they still had only 58 votes which is two shy of passing.

It ain't over till it's over.

I know!!!! Can you believe Congress hasn't stopped it yet? The Congress authorizes the money (not the president) and they keep throwing money at it through the regular appropriations process and also the supplemental spending bills. Not to mention they are talking about continuing Afghanistan with no end date in sight. I believe 2009 may end up being the most expensive year in the history of the US. It's guaranteed to be on at least the discretionary side.
