I once had five boards stolen out of the back of my truck at my home in Seagrove. I posted signs and put the word out to the beach service guys and basically put out a $1000.00 reward for the return of the boards; no questions asked. I put out the word that hopefully whoever stole them could have a moment to reconsider the mistake they made and make it right rather than feel the heat if they get caught. I said, I don't care who took them I just want them back. I felt it was a long shot but it worked perfectly.
Evidently the word got out around the streets and someone pressured the thieves to contact me. I got a call... a message on my voice mail saying "your boards are behind the store at black creek road in freeport" click......I went up there and 4 of the 5 boards were there. I never had to pay the $1000 because the kid never left a number. I am sure it was one of them. I say kids because he sounded like he was in his early teens. Try to think of any teens who might be in your neigborhood who could have had a look in your garage. It's a small community, they could surface and they might surprise you and do the right thing. Talk to everyone in your neighborhood; I'd bet it was local kids from around there. Boards are expensive these days. Hope this helps. Waves are up this week; call me if you need to borrow a board. I've got 17 boards, Seriously. 865-1061 Dave

Tthanks Dave, I'm talking to everyone I can. I really want my boards back, not replacements so I'm asking everyone if they know anything. And thanks for the offer to borrow one of yours, I may take you up on it if the swell arrives. How did you go about offering the reward??
I know of another person that lost bikes also, so we have a recurring thief in the area we need to get rid of.
Where in seagrove was it taken, and did you call the sheriffs dept.? Also what's it look like, I'm searching for my boards, so I may see itMy bike was stolen two nights ago in Seagrove.![]()
