Ah, but you will be in Sowal soon, correct? (Not til June for me :sosad: )

Yes, hopefully I'll be there by this time next week. :clap_1: I'm lucky enough to be coming back in July for 10 days with my husband & some other extended family.

It was actually snowing here a little while ago - ugh! Still, I think it's not as bad as what you are all dealing with south of here. Hope the storms pass soon (and that we all have some sunny spring weather before too long!)
:lolabove: That explains it!!! I knew there had to be a good reason the Cubs won today...Cards aren't used to playing in snow!!!! :rotfl:

We had really bad stuff today. Baseball and softball size hail around the Germantown and Cordova area of Shelby County. High winds and heavy rain. It was so black it looked like nighttime. Funnel cloud was spotted here in Shelby County but luckily didn't touch down. Sirens went off for over 30 minutes. Had two rounds of storms between 9 and noon. This was after the bad storms in Northwest Tennessee Sunday night that killed 24. 11 people lost their lives today so far north of Nashville around Gallatin and a good bit of damage around Dixon also which is around that area also. Under tornado watch until 4:00 a.m. even as we speak. Lot of severe weather just south of us in Mississippi around the middle of the state extending into Northeast Mississippi. I am beginning to think we should be included in tornado alley. And in reality, Tennessee isn't but there probably is just about as much damage in the West and Middle Tennessee area than alot of other places that are called tornado alley. We get the warm gulf air colliding with the cold front air and when you are already having high temperatures around 80 well that just fuels things even more.

That's just terrible lady! I thought it was all over here, but it's really starting to blow outside now! It was 80 here today too, but I bet the temp has dropped 30 degrees. I guess we are in for another night of bad storms. Stay safe everyone!

ktschris, it is showing 68 here right now. I think it is going to be in the low 50's here tonight. I will welcome a cooler night and daytime highs just to not have any more storms for a while. A family of four was killed Sunday night in the Dyer County area. Two adults in their 20's and their 3 and 5 year old sons. So sad. And the only funeral director in the town was the father to the man. He was burying one child with each parent in the same casket. He said he didn't care if he saw daylight the next day. Having to bury his own son and daughter-in-law and two grandsons. By the way, what all is there to see in St. Louis besides the arch and Busch Stadium and the zoo? Have never even set foot in Missouri and would like to see St. Louis sometime. But not during tornado season.

Typical for Cubs early in the season. I'm sure the Cards will have more than their share of wins against the Cubs before the year is over!

Michigan but someday in SoWal as well
Sorry for those of you who are in the midst of all these storms. We don't get them that bad here in Michigan, but we do get a few later in the spring season. I'm always on alert during the tornado season because I want to know where the kids are exactly at all times.

when we went to visit my uncle a couple of years ago, we went to the arch, the anheuser-busch beer plant tour (not sure of the official name) and also went to see a hockey game. ate at mike shannon's downtown (very good) and stayed at the hotel in union station. also hit the st louis blues gift shop at savvis center where the hubby dropped a chunk.:D

Thanks Audie. It's a shame that we live so near the Missouri border and have never been there. Can't seem to drag ourselves away from visiting the Panhandle to want to go anywhere else. And Paula, there are pictures of the storm damage from Sunday night and some pictures of the damage yesterday on the msn home page. They are included in the article that says 11 people killed in Tennessee by storms, or something to that effect. Alot of flat land in certain areas of the state here like Kansas prairie land but not around Nashville. It is heavily populated as we are. But northwest Tennessee has alot of farmland scattered through it.
