Stossel moving to FOX

There's only one thing I love more than Stossel, its Stossel on a news channel I actually watch.

It's time for a change.

In one month, I leave ABC News.

In October, I will join the folks at Fox.

I plan to do a one hour prime time show every week on FBN, the Fox Business Channel, and contribute to various existing programs on Fox News Channel.

I?m grateful to ABC News for allowing me to do stories that challenged conventional wisdom, and occasionally enraged many of its viewers. But it?s said that everyone should change jobs every 7 years. I?ve been at ABC for 28 years ...

In my new job, I want to dig into the meaning of the words ?liberty? and ?limited government?. ABC enabled me to do some of that, but Fox offers me more airtime and a new challenge.

I?m still considering what I will do with my own show, one hour each week. Economics certainly. Exercises in understanding libertarianism. My ?take? on the issues of the day. Kind of like this blog. In fact, maybe we?ll call it, Stossel?s Take?

I ask you for your ideas. A studio audience? Should I wander around Congress?

Perfect fit for Stossel- I used to like him, but like many journalists, probably felt he had to align with one side or the other in a big way to "advance"his career.

But 30shopper- I would never have pegged you as a FOX watcher. (that is a compliment)

When I'm watching I flip between fox and cnn, I'd say about 50/50 each. Both have good shows.

5pm - Baier / Wolf
6pm - Wolf / Shep
7pm - O'Reily / Dobbs

I like Baier and his team, they have good commentary while Wolf is doing his same old same old. Wolf at 6 is better than Shep, and if I'm still watching I dig both O'Reily and Dobbs depending on the subject. Both have good guests. Maybe Stossel will replace Beck or better yet, Hannity, who I think is a complete idiot.

I disagree...I can see why 30Ashopper is a sometime FOX watcher. He doesn't watch it exclusively, but how else does one really see what is going on in the media without watching a bit of all these outlets? Hearsay? For my money, 30Ashopper is one of the most balanced posters on sowal.com.

I'm sorry to see that these "journalsits" have to align themselves with a particular media viewpoint. Another way our country is drawing the lines and polarizing, imo. Pretty soon people will start putting media outlet bumper stickers on their cars. :roll:
