My tree decorations have been the same for 10 years--except my glitter Moose Head "star" (made from a palm frond) and Destinscuba's sowal ornament!

My favorites:

Two blown glass ornaments from Germany: a garlic and a pickle.
The kids, (both young and old) love the tradition of winning a prize if they're the first to "find the pickle."

Although not an ornament...my old fashioned "bubble lights"

We have the pickle too since we are both of German descent. What is the garlic for?

Is it clear yet?

I love the ornaments the kids have made but I have several favorites too. My beachy ornaments top the list...I also always buy an ornament on vacations. One of my favorites is from Door County Wisconsin...it's a cow with a dangly bell at the bottom.

BB, I love, love, love your tree.

Shelley, we started the pickle tradition last year in our family. I had never heard of it before that.

Thanks funnybunny. My favorites on that tree are from when Lil' FFF was about 10and we started making ornaments for our first beach house tree, we took seashells and starfish and glitterpainted on them. Some of them are starting to peel, but I love them anyway. FFF keeps saying we can't fit another ornament on it....but i do!

I definitely think a tree w/ a wide variety of ornaments is much better than some inferior desecrator special w/ no personality.

Papa Scooterbug noted last night that one of the ornaments is from when he was a little kid - half a century ago!

I love the ornaments that my kids made through out the years, and the ones with their pictures on them (made at church). I was able to go through all the ornaments before the divorce and get my favorites
I have a raggedy ann that I painted when I was 10.
I also love the ornaments that I got when Cork & I were in Europe.

For me...the most beautiful tree is one that you can look at and have a ton of memories from!
Thanks Scooter, for this great thread...hope you are having funn! Miss you!
