Secret Clinical was no better for me than Degree--it just costs twice as much and leaves white residue on my clothes.

I use Mitchum unscented solid for men. It's the only thing that works these days. (The gel will work, too, but I don't like gooey stuff in my armpits, which is why I use antiperspirant in the first place.)

Oh FTLOG now we have one more thing in common.:shock:

no kidding. I can't believe that Tallahassee is #3!! My son wants to move away from the cold & snow but not move to a place that feels like 400 hells.

I grew up in Tallahassee, trust me August was known as sin and suicide. The theory was you comitted a sin, killed yourself, and hell was a sweet release from the heat.

Tallahassee also has the unique daily afternoon thunderstorm that comes thru like a swiss train at 4:15pm, drops 1/4 inch of rain and then disappears at about 4:16pm. The sky clears the sun comes out and the whole town turns into the worlds largest sauna, complete with steam.

If he's dorming it he's in luck they all have air conditioning now. I used to work as a teenager in the summers painting them and 5 dorms at the time had no air conditioning. The really old dorms weren't bad as they were designed and built before air conditioning so they had high ceilings, dormers, and took advantage of the wind. However, the worst was built in the early 50's had 8 foot ceilings and little itty-bitty windows that hardly opened. It would get hot enough that during the summer we would have to leave the building due to safety concerns of the heat. They used to take the temp and once it hit 110 degrees we got to leave. It usually hit that temp about 11am.

swgb, that would be awful.

When we lived in Clearwater, that afternoon rain came thru the same way, then the unbelievable humidity. I never had a good hair day in all those years living there. At least we had breezes.

I forgot to mention move in day, if it was especially hot we'd wait until "dad" had gotten the window unit he bought at Home Depot installed before going up and taking it out while explaining that it was not permitted. We had to call the cops on several occasions. One guy told me his princess would not be sweating. I explained that we could remove it or she could enroll at another school.

Just a side note once assigned to one of the hot boxes the letter they got was written in 32-point bold type explaining no air conditioners. It was an annual tradition. Home Depot and Lowe's wouldn't put up signs because once installed the customer couldn't return it.

After our weekly Target adventure, Sam decided to go with Dove Clinical Strength because she liked the cucumber green tea scent. I switch between Dove and Secret myself but the regular works for me. I hope this does work b/c your right NH it's expensive! $8 for the smaller size and $12 for the larger one!

Oh FTLOG now we have one more thing in common.:shock:

See? Even SWGB agrees. Since my switch, I've discovered that half my friends have the same problem and have come to the same conclusion.

Mitchum solid for men. Not kidding...my $8 Clinical Secret is sitting in the closet now. (You want it, SWGB?)

No, I love my mitchum, but be careful the gel looks very similar. I bought it once by accident and I thought I had a water fountain in my armpits. Gels just don't work. I also love the fact that it's unscented.

I'm with Audie on this one. Summer blech, I'm ready for fall.

I'm telling ya Kitty is telling the truth about Texas. Years ago I spent a HOT mess of a week in Austin/San Antonio. I swear I thought my shoes were melting, maybe it was the asphalt puddling up. :dunno: Even the Hispanics were complaining it was too hot and wondering why they ever fought over the Alamo since it wasn't air conditioned.
