Another summer lover here. I only complain about weather in January, February and sometimes March. As far as the summer heat goes, I would much rather have humidity and an ocean breeze (OK, with a cute little drink in hand) than a dry heat. Whenever I go to Vegas in summer and just cross the street I am ready to go back to my hotel room to take a nap. It causes my skin and eyes to feel dry and my hair brittle. No thanks.

But my favorite temperature is when you don't feel hot or cold.

I'm with Audie on this one. Summer blech, I'm ready for fall.

I'm telling ya Kitty is telling the truth about Texas. Years ago I spent a HOT mess of a week in Austin/San Antonio. I swear I thought my shoes were melting, maybe it was the asphalt puddling up. :dunno: Even the Hispanics were complaining it was too hot and wondering why they ever fought over the Alamo since it wasn't air conditioned.

thank you cheers ! we are definitely the minority on this one

That's ok with me. I only like summer for the week I'm on vacation. Then I'm ready for the temps to get back to the 70's.

Stick with me, sweater weather is right around the corner. That's the best!

swgb, that would be awful.

When we lived in Clearwater, that afternoon rain came thru the same way, then the unbelievable humidity. I never had a good hair day in all those years living there. At least we had breezes.

Sorry, off subject...

When did you live in Clearwater? I lived in Maderia Beach for a number of years.

Oh, I do not miss those 4:00 storms

Hi from No. 8

Today my downstairs bathroom door wouldn't close. That has never happened before. I had to turn the A/C way down to clear out the humidity. Now it's cold in here. But better than outside.

The 4:00 storms are back! They had been sort of missing, or just sort of lame, for several years now. A LONG time. This year they are BACK with a vengeance. I mean every day at 4 p.m. (and sometimes two other times a day ) Huge lightning storms, tons of rain, you name it. I wonder what is different this year? I need to go see if Jeff Masters has anything to say about this, or maybe email him and ask, because I am a geek and have to know.

I just remember them so well because I worked 2nd shift back then and it would never fail, as soon as I would walk out the door for work....BOOM.

We actually lived in Palm Harbor from '85 - '95. We both worked in Clearwater and the boy was born in Dunedin. It's soooooo different down there than the panhandle. No comparison.
