The SWFD is currently accepting applications for the full time position of Fire/Life Safety Inspector.
The job duties shall include but not limited to the following:
•Inspects new and existing buildings and developments for code compliance; issue citations as required;
•Review blueprints for code compliance.
•Performs hazardous materials inspection as necessary;
•Assists the Fire Marshal in presentations to civic and community groups;
•Prepares inspection reports and maintains records and reports;
•Enforces all District fire codes and ordinances and regulations;
•Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
•High school graduate or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
•Possession of a valid, appropriate driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
•Florida State Certified Fire Safety Inspector 1
•Must be a non-smoker/non-tobacco user.
•Must successfully pass the Fire District’s medical/physical, drug screen and background check requirements as a condition of employment.
