Well, we had no problem with them this time thank goodness but two years ago we could not even walk down the beach and we were way more than 20 feet from our beach chairs and umbrella we could not enjoy and still were being bitten the entire time while trying to walk.

Sometimes they are that bad but it is rare.

Well, oddly enough it sounds like they were only unbearable in Inlet Beach, which is adjacent to Bay County.

Do the dog flies normally cluster and vary from area to area? How long will they be now that there's no spraying?

They were bad at Grayton as well. North wind was blowing. They were bad last year too, even when the planes still sprayed.

Technically, the State hasn't sprayed for Dog Flies in the last two years in Walton County. The flies will move on when the winds come out of the south.
