Thanks for all the great info Optimama! I did some research yesterday with the hubby and he zeroed in Madeira Beach because it is next to Johns Pass and he can watch the fishing boats!! I don't care as long as the kids have plenty to do and I am on the beach or on the balcony looking out at the beach! There were several condo's in that area, the Beach Place, Crimson, Villa Madeira, and the Madeira Norte. Are you or anyone else familiar with this area?

I live on Madeira Beach for a few years back in the late 80's / early 90's. I loved it. I'm sure much has changed since then - so I'm afraid I won't be much help, but the area was beautiful.

YES...check out the Kima ..it is a resort condo...2 NICE bedrooms, large living room.balcony, nice kitchen... and even has washers and dryers in the condo!! The beach is inches from the back door, and the pool is situated on the west side of the building looking over the gulf but still getting all the really great sea breeze...so it is never like a bath tub! There is not quite as much in the way of teen excitement...almost all of the beachfront is condo/condo resort,so you will need to make sure you bring a cast net, buckets, fishing gear, skim boards...and utilize the Treasure Island Fun Center,John's Pass Pier, and the local Putt Putt!!
As far as beach/balcony relaxing goes, the KIMA is THE SPOT!!! GOOD LUCK!

PS: that pool at the Kima faces east/west on the NORTH side, which is why it catches the cooling breezes. The condos also have a large master baths, and 2nd additonal bath as well. Each unit is owner decorated,so that may be the ONLY drawback!!!
