He's very insecure about his teeth--notice he smiles with mouth closed whenever possible. It's due to his full-on diabetes--it ruins teeth like that. He said in some interview the first thing he'd like to do if he gets some money is to fix them up. I doubt he'll go the distance, but he's got a nice voice, a sweet disposition and has overcome so much (he's part deaf too!) that it's hard not to pull for him.

As for Chris, who've I've been behind from the start, I hope he starts to show a little more versatility too. Simon does that every year, first telling someone to stick to whatever their style is, and then berate them for not being more versatile. (did it with Carrie last year). Feh, he plays us. But other than that he's usually right on the money with his comments. He's the only one I really pay attention to. Randy sometimes provides insight, but Paula is generally just useless cheerleading, dont you think?

Wow, I had no idea. I've really liked him from early on, though I agree about him not going the distance, unfortunately. Seems like he has a good enough voice to end up going somewhere, you know? Heck, even a lot of the "lesser" Idols from previous seasons are on Broadway and touring with shows. I agree, too, with your assessment of the judges, katie. I actually tire of the audience constantly booing Simon; seems so silly when he's actually speaking the truth most of the time.

Well, that makes sense, because it does seem really canned. Stupid.

While you and I may enjoy Taylor's music, we won't by as many albums as the teenie boppers will of their favorite artist of the week. The winner will appeal to the teenie boppers, not us Thirty-Somethings;-). I can almost guarantee you.

Test question -- Did you vote for any of the contestants? I didn't think so. Neither did I. The teenie boppers will not vote for Taylor because he will remind them of a father like figure. Let's face it, they are looking for a teen star with this show. Perhaps Simon should spin off another show with a focus on adult singers.

I vote for Taylor every week and so do all my friends (who are also in their 20's). We're not teeny boppers, but we're crossing our fingers that there are enough of us out there to keep getting him through each week.

Tater, good for you! Nothing is set in stone, and if you want to change things, vote! If enough who like Taylor best, will simply vote, he could have a strong chance to win. I struggle enough with remembering the time and day which the show is aired, but I may try to vote next show.

I heard on the news up here in Chicago that Chris was contacted by Fuel to be their lead singer - but he had to efuse now due to his Idol contract.

That makes sense because I think he sounds like he should be singing for Soundgarden or Disturbed, etc. He has a great voice but he dosen't seem like an Amer. Idol.

Hey Cork, I dunno. What Katie Blue said does make some sense -- she is a little controlled, and doesn't have that sparkling personality that some of the others do. But she is beautiful as well as a beautiful singer. I thinks she will be a finalist, but who's to say?

Yeah...and the judges weren't shocked either.
The fact that Taylor keeps getting through means that there are definitely people voting for him. I mean listen...people from Alabama, esp. B'ham, get obsessed! Bo, Ruben, Taylor...see. They'll put him through. And like I said. The women in the room I work in love him to death. So Queens and the Bronx are voting too.
