...still waiting to hear what the great conservative agenda is going to be to save the economy... let me guess, tax cuts and more defense spending...

All I'm gonna say before the thread likely and deservedly gets locked is that someone that feels like they're got to troll or threaten violence on a message board is probably trying to compensate for some real... inadequacies... in real life.

Right here!
I have been hearing "tomorrow can't come soon enough" from many fired up righties. But I believe in their excitement that they seem to have forgotten an important fact about this election-

Their vote isn't worth more this time around than the votes cast by the folks from the left or in the middle.

You will go there thinking that you are stomping a liberals a head by voting for the candidate furthest to the right. And liberals and those in the middle (many who are disappointed with Obama and the Democratic led congress) will vote for the candidate they believe seems to be the most sane choice.

Odds are the Republicans will have a great night- history tells us this because the midterm election tends to go against the party in control.

But remember- It is feasible that the dems could end up okay (relatively speaking) as a direct result of the way many on the right are acting. You could be mobilizing the wrong team. Time will tell.

I've been hearing that excuse a lot lately. Like this has nothing to do with the policies promoted over the last two years. I think that's short sighted, and I hope democrats currently in power (those that will still be around) are learning from the experience. Both sides need to act smart, they are both on "probation" as the pundits like to say.

Shopper, FWIW I don't cite the trend with disregard for the fact that many are very angry with Obama and the dems.

My point was that most of the eager angry people whose team lost the presidency last time around would have voted the same way in this election- even if they weren't so eager and angry.

:dunno:

Here's where things aren't so simple.

For some people, the policies promoted were socialist and were passed by a foreign born Muslim satanic Hitler who dishonored America and changed our way of life.

For others, the issue is with the policies promoted (e.g. folks who oppose universal healthcare)

For others like myself, the issue isn't with the spirit of the policies (I want universal healthcare) but rather with how the dems went about pushing them through and the fact that there is too much junk in there that negates all the good that was in there.

And finally, there are those who believe Obama compromised too much and should have shoved through policies like a single payer system.

SO- while i agree that many are not happy with policy I am not too quick to believe that this will result in an automatic right turn by the people.

Definitely, most polls indicate this is not an acceptance of republican economic solutions (people know little on that, since the republican party has been in the minority for four years), this is about punishing the democrats. People didn't like how things were handled. I don't blame them. One phrase sums up for me why people are so angry -

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.?

-- Rahm Emanuel

Well, they did, and people didn't like it.

At this point, I could step on a liberals hard head and dance on his body. Tomorrow can't come fast enough. Yes, I know that it sounds terrible so get over it.

I think that right turn will be evident this evening Geo. I just hope that the President and his men will get the message and take note...that the people have let their leaders know what they want and that they need to listen! The next two years will be interesting to watch and debate here on the forum.

I'm not in support of banning anyone in the politiks forum unless they are consistently out of bounds ie: zippy. In "it's" 30+/- post "it" constantly attacked forum members just because of their gender or sexual orientation. None of which had to do with the topic/discussion. Then "it" went too far with the wanting to physically stomp someone because of their political/social opinion.... That is too much bootjack mentality and deserved a "timeout"

I may disagree with some of ya, but wouldn't wish violence on ya....well at least not most of ya.....;-)
