I'm 18 and I moved to SoWal at the beginning of my freshman year, so I didn't have to worry too much about changing schools. I'm currently in the midst of my senior year, and even the thought of leaving at this point gives me chills. I know that I couldn't stand to abandon my friends and classes now to move somewhere else. Your son is so close to finishing in a comfortable environment, you might as well let him. Plus, the sudden change of atmosphere and people might have an effect on his grades, and with your college search underway, now would be a horrible time to risk that.
On the other hand, if he does plan to join you, he'll be welcomed with open arms at South Walton High School. It's a small school, but we're still growing and expanding in all aspects. If your family wants to come look around, I'd be happy to give you a tour and all the inside information. South Walton is a great community with tons of opportunities just waiting to be explored.
But I think the most obvious choice is for him to do what he's most comfortable with. I hope everything works out. Please keep us updated.

Especially since my son, Russ, was overseas! Thank God, he's no longer in the Military, but, they could still pull him back in, for EIGHT years! I have the utmost respect and admiration, for them all! With the exception of the killer Marine, that's missing! Sorry , about the diversion!:leaving:
You sound like the perfect individual, to talk with her son, Mike! Way beyond your years and so very, refreshing!
