DD,your dressing is close to mine, I use cracker crumbs no bread and I add very fine chopped boiled eggs .and no bell pepper

the sun is out!!!!

my menu
smoked turkey breast (I'll do my own smoking)
smoked pork loin wrapped in bacon (again,I'll smoke my own)
dressing
butter beans (that I put up last summer)
white chedder mac and cheese (for the grands)
deviled eggs
sweet potatoe cass w/pecans
yeast rolls
sweet potato pie
cheese cake

Sounds delish! I forgot that sometimes I add the boiled eggs too, depending on who's coming.
Man, I could eat a huge bowl of butter beans about now.

CP, that is exactly how we say it on the farm! Blanch and put up vegetables!

DD, I could eat a big ole bowl of butter beans right now, too......with a little bacon, butter and cream all cooked up in an iron skillet! YUM!

OK, well I am kinda' selfish with my macaroni and cheese recipe, but in the spirit of giving and sharing, here it is:

Melt some butter and make a roux - use lots of milk. Add a little nutmeg and pepper. Boil the pasta of your choice. I like to use rigatoni for this.

Grate some cheese. A lot of cheese. Extra sharp cheddar, white cheddar, gruyere and parmesan.......a lot of it......tons of it.

I use a large creuset pan and place the pasta in the pan, then pour the roux, mix up just a tad. All the cheese on top. Be sure there is enough liquid (you can mix some water with the roux mixture) to make it slightly soupy.

I place this pan on a cookie sheet in case it bubbles over. In the oven on about 350 until it's bubbly (it takes a while....maybe 45 min)......then, put a broil on it for a couple of minutes!

Yum, Yum!
