No surprise that Faulkner takes 3 of the top 10.

Oh- Confederacy of Dunces is #12- I would have put it in the top 10.

Wow, Beloved beat out The Color Purple?

I'm really surprised that Fried Green Tomatoes At the Whistle Stop Cafe didn't even make the list. Not the movie, but the original book.

Beach reading, my dear. Different category.;-) I liked Fried Green Tomatoes though~

If you want a mental stretch- read A Short History of Small Place by T.R Pearson. It only received one vote- probably because sentences tend to go on for at least a page it not 2 or 3. But it is soooo slow, humid, and Southern.

Not a big fan of run on sentences. They make my head hurt. If I blink and lose my place I have to start over again. Sounds like that book would take me months to complete.

It became a mission- but it is one of the books that is better savored, not speed read! I had to read it in small parts.
