SJ: Did you ever have fried zucchini flowers? You have to eat them right after you cook them. You can stuff them, too. I haven't tried this recipe, but it looks good.

CNN was doing a story about enviornmental cars. They had pictures of different cars. One was a Hummer...I said I'd like a guy who drove a hummer. Then asked me what kind of person would drive a hybrid. I said a Democrat. They made me repeat it and sent me on my merry way. It was classic.

Yes, it tastes "flowery" and you don't want to have too much batter. Fried zucchini slices are excellent as well. Fry up some flowers and zucchini slices (slice the zucchini them in the round and then fry them in a batter and salt them and eat them very hot -- I'm drooling again all over my computer keyboard at the office). Anyway, fried zucchini flowers are a very Italian thing (pretty common in Italy -- some day it will be a gourmet appetizer/food in the US just like polenta is). My grandmother would make fried zucchini flowers now and then (but rarely because those zucchini flowers were hard to come by and not sold in local grocery stores).
