that was always the best most coldest water ever. i wouldn't drink out of the hose now on a bet

Not in the deep South. You always had to let the water run a few minutes before you got the cold stuff......and you had to make sure all the bugs and frogs came out. It did taste different, didn't it?

We had a big hill in our back yard and it ended in the parking lot of our school. In the winter my brothers and me used to ride our sleds to school. All of the other kids were jealous and in the spring and fall we used to play on that hill during recess. The teachers would watch us from the classroom windows and make sure we didn't get into trouble. What about the old phone numbers?? I remember our first phone number Ludlow1-0321 or Lu1-0321.

Like BR549?

We had regular 7 digit numbers ever since I can remember. Funny, I still remember my phone number! 733.1969!

After the phone company changed the numbers and got rid of the letters our number was 587-3518, that was in the mid 60's. some numbers you just never forget. My first girlfriend 271-2173. I could just never forget that number.

We grew up civilized with the full phone number. However translated into words it was 8WE-SUCK. That's not a funn way to find out your own number when prank calling.

I would venture to say that you are just a little bit younger then me so you probably have no recolection of those numbers. We were sort of civilized also back in the day but it is still great to be able to remember these things.

my aunt's phone was on a party line that had a bunch of teenagers on it back in the early 70's. this provided hours of entertainment and listening pleasure for the whole family. we would go to her house in the evenings for "listening parties" and all huddle around the phone.....

Party lines were fabu! My Aunt had one in the late 70's! You had to be really careful what you said when it was your conversation and a serious one! OMG, we would laugh though at some of those conversations!

We had one of these.

It even had a jack for a recording device. Looking back we were quite the hooligans.

And, someone always said, "Did you hear that? We must be on a party line."
