mahna mahna!!!

I forgot all about the muppets and their crazy stuff! how adorable! must have it! were the muppets on sesame street or did they have their own gig? I just don't remember.
Both, sort of. Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure someone will

):
All of the non-flesh-and-blood characters (Big Bird, Oscar, Elmo, Burt & Ernie, etc.) were Jim Henson creations. They were muppets in the sense that they were marienettes (sp?) and puppets. But they did not appear on the Muppet Show. Big Bird had a cameo in The Muppet Movie, but I think he was the only one.
Contrary-wise, I think that Kermit was the only Muppet who appeared on Sesame Street. He was a reporter.
If I may cross over from Summer Reading list, I just read a fun book just before I was down there:
Before You Leap: A Frog's Eye View of Life's Greatest Lessons by Kermit the Frog. (I guess that it would technically be non-fiction, since it's a memoir/self-help book?! As Hop says, I'm a walking contradiction!)
