I noticed the two "stars" near the moon tonight too. Really beautiful. Oddly enough, it was as I left Borders bookstore with a copy of some old Carl Sagan lectures from the bargain table. Billions and billions... I really miss him.
You know, there are supposedly estimated to be about 100 Billion stars in our galaxy, the Milky Way, and there are estimated to be about 100 Billion galaxies in the entire Universe. That's a lot of stars. If String Theory is correct, and the definition of Universe is incorrect, there are two parallel universes so that would double the total count of stars.
