Anyone with a Blogger account want to drop them a note about how that area is a very rural place compared to much of the state compared to Ft. Lauderdale and such? (I would but I'm having problems getting my google/blogger password reset tonight)

Seems like there are some inaccurate assumptions in the comments about a dark office on Saturday night on a site that does strive for accurate reporting and projections.

Hmmmm. Wonder what they found over at Obama headquarters at the 72 hour countdown.

So they are expecting it to be staffed 24/7 ?? :rotfl:

These must be the same people who organized the Obama/Clinton rally in Osceola county the other night. Fuzz's comments were, in order:
Isn't it 10:00 there?
Shouldn't all these people be getting ready for bed?
Did they cancel school?

And this is what you have to offer them? That's some powerful stuff right there. Where is it only a mile from beach to bay? The Democratic office is open well after dark. Thank goodness this post was at the bottom of the page...

That's the next county over from me. It's a very rural area-that part of the county is essentially a one mile wide by 20 mile long sand bar separated by five miles of bay from the rest of the county. Year round population in the area is maybe 30-35,000 people.

I'm not surprised to see it shut down so early since the area doesn't have a huge volunteer pool to draw from.

Other random thoughts about it:

The Australian restaurant next door is supposed to be good for a quick meal

Karl Rove's beach house is only a couple miles down the way in one direction

Sheryl Crowe's beach house is a couple miles away in the other direction. By all accounts, she's far more pleasant to bump into down here than Rove is. (Rove's kind of infamous for going off on a food and travel writer for Southern Living magazine who dared to ask a total softball non-partisan question during a 'no media' talk he gave at a local library)

Perhaps someone should point out that the Obama office is staffed from 8am to 10pm on that sandbar. Dem HQ had volunteers from four states in to canvass Saturday. And no, they weren't dark at 7.

You just did. Thx...

I don't really know why anyone really cares to set the record straight on these matters, though. The picture of the dark McCain Headquarters here is IMHO intended to be more symbolic than anything of something that we already know-

Regardless of the election results, Obama's people ran a better campaign. Of course, the electoral count will be the ultimate measure...

Miramar Beach area (where I'm most frequently) is definitely not much more than a mile wide in parts between Emerald Bay GC and the outlet mall.

Interesting to see the contrast with the Tallahassee office picture someone later posted.
