I have consistently said that polls are not the best way to govern, esp. in difficult times.

I have consistently said that facts and not beliefs or opinions are a far better way to govern.

And when your beliefs are challenged by facts, some of which may come in the form of polls, it is wise to reconsider your beliefs.

The sad thing is we have a idiot for a president, how on Gods' green earth
are we going to recover from this debacle this nut has got our country into at the present time. The goodwill we have squandered and the negitive PR that will take decades to erase. If we were not willing to kill everyone that disagrees with us then we better learn that word diplomacy. The Gin man is just putting out the talking points that Bush has to hear in order to sleep at night. They say at West Point that old soldiers never die they just fade away. Thats what this president wants to happen with the truth, and trust me every day his cronies are trying to rewrite the truth. Truth we should have went after Bin laudin with everything we had but instead we were having a snow job done to us by these fools. Like it or not we are quickly becoming the most hated country in the world and the sad thing is we all can thank the White House for this one. I am ashamed to say I am a republican but my God what do the Dem's have to offer. Maybe Richards, I tell you who I like for President and thats Webb. I think he gets the big picture here.Look how many people who are still in favor of this damn war yet don't want the draft to come back. Is the Gin man really so naive that he doesn't see the devorce rate for service men and women are sky rocketing.Damn this war pisses me off.:bang:

and further more what do you mean by them(let them kill more) That is truely a stupid thing to say

Mr.6th Gen( I guess your referring to your lack of pedigree) Why don't you try to bring to the table something that has not been copyed or pasted from the INTERNET. You sit sit there in your house with your condescending tone as if others you are talking to do not have the mental strength to pick up on your arrogance. I am only surmising that it is your belief that anything this President said you would agree with right now. I believe you to be a person of privilege which is in no way a bad thing, but damn it man don't you think that with that privilege comes responsibility. You think this is the right war in iraqi, Well, fly up to Walter Reed and look them young boys and girl's eyes and ask yourself if we really needed them to end up this way to get bin lauden? I realized there would be casualties but do it on the battle field where the enemy is not where you want to go and secure one of the largest oil fields in the world for your buddies at halaburton. No, its peole like you who do not question what this man in the white House has done, which will have lasting effects on this country. The tens of thousands of young women and children who have been bombed by what we casually call collateral damage. I forget why we are in there now, there have been so many G,,damn excuses it sickening. It started out with WMD's Then we were freeing the Iraqi people from a brutal Dictator.By what killing all of them and bombing them into the middle ages. Things done in the dark will always find there way to the light, this being no exception. They said the sad thing about Robert E Lee was he was a good man who followed the wrong path. People like that do so much more damage than evil men. :sosad: :sosad: :sosad:

It reminds me of something I once wrote,

The decisions you make today will lay down and rest, so that in the future they can rise and visit you

You know as an adult I have taken the time to review some of my statements to 6th Gen and would like to publicly apologies for my ridiculous and hurtful comments toward him.

These comments were scurrilous to say the least and I am sorry in every way for my deplorable actions to this man. It is my belief that 6th Gen is one on the few people who when he talks on this board has something that I find worth listening to.

Although we do disagree on the war in Iraq, I still am impressed with his arguments and can see how those who could disagree can still be respectful in their disagreements.

This is a sincere apology.

Of course they did -- they ARE politicians, aren't they? I brought this up in the Hillary thread. They dropped the timelines at the same time they more than doubled the emergency war funding, by adding non-war related money to the bill. They may say they are against funding the war, but in truth, politicians don't care about making a real stance on anything other than their own agenda -- lining the pockets of their buddies. Your politicians and former politicians are available for the right price. ;-)

Boy SJ, if you voted Dem in the last election I can see why your so cynical...It only took them 6mos to betray you...I thought they were elected to do the will of the People...I guess the will of the People was to cave to a lame duck President...Oh well, I'm sure Hillary and Obama will be different...

BTW, what about Bob Kerrey?...Red
