Opposite when the oil hit a few years ago - they benefitted.
Eyes will be on the Gulf of Mexico this week with a system moving off of Yucatan with a high percentage chance of formation. At this time it looks like south Texas needs to keep a close eye on this system.

Both of our beach trips this summer were good pretty much weather wise. The one in July we did have rain 3 mornings but two mornings it was before we got up and the other a brief rain around 10. August trip no rain at all where we stayed, had a lightning show on Sunday night for several hours but no rain. Rained like crazy at the other end of PC Beach though.
Was enjoyable to watch from inside but unfortunately a K9 officers dog was struck and killed by that lightning that night over in PC Beach. You wouldn't allow your kids outside in that, why would you your dog? Especially a police dog? Had me sad when I read that.
Well there now is Tropical Depression Five forecast to become Tropical Storm Dolly. Looks like the east coast of Mexico will get the brunt of this one.

Invest 92L is looking healthier today with deepening and expanding convection. If this trend continues it could become a Tropical Depression tonight. It is forecast to cross the Florida peninsula and enter the Gulf of Mexico in the next couple of days.
