Remember, they're not refugees, they're....What were we supposed to call them again?

Per the Associated Press: "Congress already has provided $62 billion in emergency relief for Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, after Katrina roared through in August, followed by Rita in September. Louisiana lawmakers have proposed another $250 billion in federal outlays to help the state recover."

Let's see.... New Orleans had 450,000 people. Divide that into $250 billion. I get over $500,000.00 per person. Sobering. Or is there a better word for it?

Carlin didn't write this. He is much smarter, funnier, and would not be defending the government even if it was deserved.

I am with Kurt. Sounds nothing like Carlin, not even a little bit. Sounds more like a speach writer for George Bush. :D

Takes quite a bit of vig to build an underwater city...
We're twitx a rock and a hard place where that area is concerned. Hosts some ridiculous percentage of natn'l refining capacity. Oil infrastructure sited there basically 'cause nobody else would go for it. Locals there couldn't resist jobs w/numbers of poor & unemployed...
