For those unfamiliar with this holiday Kings Day is the day the three wise men brought gifts to baby Jesus. But more importantly if your from New Orleans you know it's the official start of King Cake Season. I was whining about no King Cake in South Walton and Gwen Baker at Laloba Bakery has come to the rescue. She got her babies yesterday so it's the real deal.

Every day's a holiday!!
especially in NOLA. one big celebration of life.

my bil was shopping at our goodwill while visiting over the holiday - buying tons of bizarre fabrics and materials to take to his custom costume maker in Nola for mardi gras krewe parties, etc. its never ending over there. can't keep up but love watching.

Right. Today is the beginning of Twelfth Night (the twelfth night after Christmas and the beginning of the religious season of Epiphany). That'd be Mardi Gras season in NOLA.

Our Publix here on Georgia has King Cakes near mad grass which is on February 16th. You can always order beads and such at Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World - New Orleans, LA and King cakes from Gambino's Bakery .

Laissez les bon temps rouler!

As soon as you cut the cake and find out who got the baby, let us know so we'll know who will host the next party. That's the tradition that keeps the party going full blast til Ash Wed and Lent. Gotta love that!
