He fought the trial for years.

Maybe he should have had the trial during the Bush Administration and asked for a pardon.

We can discuss Rangel in a thread about politicians that have been censured by an investigative subcommittee, and he is no saint.

But in THIS thread, we are discussing politicians convicted of money laundering and conspiracy in a court of law. Big difference.

Rangel doesn't deserve a pass either - pretty sad that even while he was being investigated for those MANY charges he got reelected.

Such is the state of politics in the US. How many honest and sane people even WANT to run at the national level?
