Thanks SJ, didn't know mills was a French word.

Knowing that mills = 1,000 makes the math easier to understand. The millage rate is simply the amount of dollars(tax) per $1,000 of assessed value.

No, I am referring to Charles, who works in the Tax Appr office in SoWal. He is a trip. It only takes about three years for him to warm up to you, if you see him often. Nice guy, but definitely not all smiles. Don't make him mad by calling in asking a bunch of questions.

I did not know that. I bet he will enjoy retirement. The ladies in the office are most helpful and friendly.
