SHELLY said:I always take a bag to pick up trash every time I go to the beach and I've been doing it since Seaside was just a wide spot in the road.
In the beginning I'd pick up some butts, an odd piece of fishing line and maybe a can. Every year that passes it just gets worse--my bag filled up more each time in a shorter distance. Now along with the "trash" we've got broken and tossed toys, balls, tents and chairs.
Maybe we have more people who learn to pick up the trash at the beach--but these aren't the folks who threw it there....I've given up hope long ago that people will learn never to toss it down in the first place.

You can do it, Lois. The next time you do, please let us know so that we can applaud your actions.Lois said:It?s not just the beaches. I stopped the other day to admire the beautiful flowers in the park area at WaterColor and this woman drove by and threw her half-smoked cigarette quite close to where I was standing. I wish I had the guts to pick it up and throw it right back at her in her shiny, new SUV.
