What a wonderful time!!! Left $$$ to help the economy:lol:

Rained on Sunday, who really cares! I was at the beach in a wonderful cottage with my family. We stay at the Cottages of Camp Creek. It was the first time not ocean front, but enjoyed it very much. The cottage had a lot of charm and my dogs loved it! Monday a little rainy, but the afternoon was nice. The rest of the week beautiful with a few days of June grass.

Got to see the new airport, not as large I as I thought it would be, but easier to get to than the old one.

Food...my favorite part:love:

Loved Smiling Fish!!!The tuna was so good!!! Cannot go wrong at this place!!
Shrimp Shack with a wonderful sunset
Shorty's - nice dinner with great service
The Terrace - ate there for the first time, good food, decor at little dated, but reminded me of a place my Dad would have found. He has been gone ten years this month.:sosad:

Not too crazy about Shades on the Loop. It may have been the time as we went late on Saturday night, but very disappointing. Not sure I would go again.

Had a couple of delicious home cooked shrimp dinners.

Only regret is that I had to return home...pics to follow.

Until the next time.......

Sounds like a wonderful time at the beach! you are like me - travel is all about the food.

I haven't been to The Terrace in years! need to go soon!

Smiling Fish - one of the very best our area offers.

Shorty's has one of the best fish sandwiches EVER.

Did you get to read and nap????

Michigan but someday in SoWal as well
Thanks for the report. You have to try George's when you're at the Cottages at Camp Creek, as well as Charlie's donut truck open in the mornings until noon. Both are within walking distance (we have a place at the Cottages at Camp Creek and look for things to do that are within walking distance). George's has really good (I mean, really good) grouper sandwiches, fish tacos, and amazing seafood with lobster quesadillas (order the quesadilla for at least 2 people, and you'll still be bringing some back home with you). I like the shrimp po'boys at Shades at the Loop, but maybe they had an off night when you were there. Hope you made it to the sunsets at the beach - awesome.

Teresa....So right about the food. Forgot to mention daily naps. I read six books. My favorites were The Wednesday Sisters, and The Beach House.

Paula, forgot to mention eating at George's. Always a great meal with great service. The donut truck in my oldest daughter's favorite!!! She is 30:D We had another special treat at La Crema. I hope the picture shows well. The chocoate bacon sounded scary, but was really good! All the desserts were delicious.

Just cannot wait to return.
