So after reading all the books,
I broke down and watched the TV show.
Hot or not, Bill is starting to get on my nerves. He wasn't so whiney in the books, and I really hate that puckered up pissy face he gets when Eric gets the last word in an argument. Grrr...
Oh, and I know this is horribly shallow, but Anna Paquin's teeth... I just can't help but stare at the big gaps in them when she talks.

This is one of those shows that has a great first season and then seems to spiral off into the never never land of sci fi fantasy in the second. I was really hoping they'd keep it real but its now starting to lose it's appeal.. I sense a "jumping the shark" moment at some point this season, if they haven't already reached it with the werid devil lady and all the town folk running around naked. Why do producers and writers always seem to ruin good shows like this that way?
You should read the books if you think the show has gone off the rails. They've actually kind of reined in the crazy.
I think the problem with the show is that they are filming the second season in L.A., and not Louisiana. The first season had a different feel -- and the Charlaine Harris parody of classism in Southern culture is getting lost in the move.
Don't feel shallow, I think Anna Paquin makes a horrible Sookie. Sookie should be a Jessica Simpson type.

I agree, I expected someone more like JS; I think maybe I just don't like the weird faces Paquin makes when she's butchering that southern accent she puts on.
I don't know, I thought the books followed much better story lines. I confess myself a little disappointed that the show doesn't follow the books a bit more--there are so many great opportunities for good scenes that they have completely bypassed to follow maenad story (which has really gotten a bit silly--I mean, come on! What's with the giant egg?) I understand that they are trying to strech the season, but I could've done with about 8 less episodes with Maryann.
Also disappointed at how flaky they've made the queen. I like her better in the books, where she's intelligent and composed. Yahtzee? Really? :roll:
