This could provide some entertainment! ..:D

TWIRL-A-SQUIRREL: Squirrel grabs onto bird feeder, a sensor in Twirl-a-Squirrel ?feels? the weight and starts spinning the feeder. The longer the squirrel tries to hold on, the faster it spins. FASTER and FASTER - the squirrel goes flying! .. :yikes:

We have an earlier version of this - the Yankee Squirrel Flipper. Yes, it is funny, especially when you never change the batteries, the squirrels get confident, then are totally surprised when the thing actually starts spinning with fresh batteries!

Products > Squirrel-proof Feeders

If you google Yankee Flipper, there are some funny Youtube videos.

Think I will go load it up with food and batteries!

Do they make one for your roof? I was rudely awakened by the thunderous feet of the squirrels. For small animals, they can be quite loud!

I'm gettin' an air gun. They are starting to dig in my flowers for bulbs. I thought they only went after nuts.

Squirrels are NUTS!
Lay some chicken wire over the bulbs and remove it when they start to emerge. May need to anchor it so they don't go under it.
I have heard to put bulbs in plastic mesh bags (like onions come in) and that helps. :dunno:
The air gun sounds more funn though!

Squirrels have been a challenge. I have had feeder tops, I have greased the pole with Pam, I have used aluminum foil and I have had a dog that chased squirrels and would catch them. My brother in law shoots them and leaves them in the yard as a warning but they are not big brains so they keep on coming. I have found that they do not like safflower seed and the birds do so that is what I go with.
