Thanks for the recommendation, Donna. I already have a stylist I love, but not so with Merman. About eight or more years ago he got his hair cut at the beach and I kick myself a dozen times for not taking a card, because now I can't remember where he went to get one of the best cuts he's ever gotten. Of course, given the way businesses come and go, it's probably not even in existence any more (which would explain why he's never gone back  )

So I am really glad to hear there's a stellar place to get a good cut because that's where my man will be going next month! A good cut makes all the difference. :clap_1:

Hey Mer. I went to Twist for a long time, and really liked the level of expertise - kind of rare for this area. However, you better make an appointment about six weeks ahead of time, and bring your big wallet. Yes, a good cut makes all the difference, this is a very true statement, so it may be worth it to some...

Thanks, Tootsie. We pay city prices for haircuts so I doubt we'll be in for any sticker shock, but it's good to know to call ahead. I googled the salon and got their phone #. I still have fond memories of how superbly handsome Merman was when he got his beach "do" so I have no qualms about making him spend some valuable beach time inside a salon! Entirely worth it.

No, I don't mind city prices either for a dam good cut. but this is a tad beyond that. The cut is usually very good, but in my experience, not consistently... at least IMO. very high prices and sometimes unpredictable outcomes...

Now you have my curiosity piqued. What do they charge for cut? I used to pay my old stylist $70 for a hair cut that lasted three or sometimes even four months without looking desperate (she was inversely economical for that reason alone;-) ). I have to say that that's all I'm willing to pay anyone--somewhat less of course for a man's "do."

Hey, Gina and Kerry, I went to the Kerastase website that says you carry their products. I need some Oleo-Relax and some other stuff that JM used at Vis-?-Vis. I was a moron and forgot to buy products when I left the salon because I was focused on beating rush-hour ATL trafffic. Do you still have Kerastase products?

as far as I know they carry mainly Bumble & Bumble. Versailles in Destin used to carry the Kerastase products - don't know if they still do.

Grayton Beach!
They have a new person there, Leah- she has done almost everyone in my family's hair. She did tween beachgirl's hair and it was $50.00 and very much worth it. Just call and ask- I have always been very happy with it (yes it is too much, but.........I've had some BAD haircuts!!) and the one time I was not- they fixed it ASAP.

The thing that kills me with Twist and others is the tip. How much do you tip? When you are already paying so much, that part makes it :bang: Don't want to be cheap, but what is customary???????:dunno:
