We've depleted our collection the past few years. I give them away and use them for carnival prizes at church and school. If you come over and visit me with a little one you will likely be going home with one. My mom was the one that started the whole collecting fiasco. She paid $150 for a Princess years ago. If you need a webkinz, let me know, she still hasn't learned.

Rather than selling them for pennies on the dollar, google "donating beanie babies." Imagine how happy you could make some little kid somewhere in the world. That would be payment enough.

A funny Beanie Baby Story,

Several years go, my daughter was in 1st grade. The teacher gave out pennies for all good deeds/acts of kindness, etc. On Friday the children could go shop at "Lisa-Mart" with their pennies. (It's a great teaching tool.) Parents donated the items for sale including many Beany Babies. Amazingly enough, almost all the children rebought their own beanie babies.:dunno: They wanted a "friend for the one they had at home." Lots of white lies (and some just plain ol' lyin') got told during that year of school.

ok the Beanie babies are my Cocker Spaniels FAVORITE toy. She loves the Pink Pig Squealer, she carries it around and loves to shake it and hear the beans move around. She sleeps on it and and tried to hind it from us, she walks around and whines tring to find a place to leave it.
I would be interested in some. She likes the more long and flat ones. Let me know I would like to buy some.

How funny! I actually googled "uses for beanie babies" because of this thread and couldn't really find anything.

I would think they would be dangerous for dogs. The dog toys I've seen in use usually have holes in them. The beans would spill out everywhere. Montgomery's dog sounds like an exception.

yes, Brandy has never chewed through a toy. She has had one of those Lofa Dogs you get at PetSmart for over a year and I have to wash it but she just carries it around. She has her favorites and never tears them up.... however if I leave paper on the coffe table when I leave it will be in 100 pieces when I get home, I guess that is not hers so she does not mind distroying it. Her toys she takes care of, go figure:)
