At least he'll go to Peruvian jail (only 35 yrs. in Peru??) and then Aruba...we won't have to pay for his incarceration. I guess the Holloway Family could file a civil suit and completely bankrupt him.

You know how some things just rub you wrong way? Well, I have a confession: I am not a proponent of the death penalty, but for some reason it seems reasonable here. I suspect he has lied to the nth degree regarding Nathalie Holloway and this will surface. Every life is precious and I am not changing my views on the death penalty....I am vehemently opposed. However, something appears and feels particularly (as bluecat stated) mean-spirited about this guy. The strength he had and used to break her neck completely overwhelms me! I cannot phathom this. It's a very personal tactic and force.

There are hundreds of people probably more mean-spirited (I'd choose to use the word evil) than him in the world, who have probably committed more heinous murders than this. Why would they not be worthy of the death penalty?

Your beliefs regarding the death penalty are yours and I respect that. I could never state WHO is WORTHY of the death penalty or not...probably because I do not believe in capital punishment. As I said, for some reason this one has rubbed me wrong and considering the alleged history in Aruba as well as the obvious personal force he had to use on this woman in Peru just shakes me up a little.

I hope for the Holloway family this leads to some closure and definite info on that situation. We know he knows.

I think several are worthy including the person who killed the 80 year old mother of a friend this past weekend in her small country church by beating her to death with a cross. She was there waiting for her minister to pick up money she had collected for tornado victims. :sosad:

You better believe it. I think the Deltona Massacre here in Florida a few years ago is at the top of the list for me.

To (sort-of) plagiarize the movie "The Jewel of the Nile", I hope he gets to spend 35 years in a Peruvian prison where every other inmate wants to be his personal proctologist.

Peruvian prisons are notoriously the most vile and corrupt in the world, literally controlled by the prisoners for even the most basic needs. AIDS and STD's are rampant. His lifespan will likely be cut short for a number of reasons, the most obvious being the murder victim's status as the daughter of a former Peruvian presidential candidate. The second being his belligerent attitude (which will quickly be adjusted)...

I'm not condoning the violence whatsoever, just stating the reality of that system. I don't think he'll make it back into the U.S. to face the charges here, so I truly hope that he confesses quickly to where Natalee's remains are in Aruba, to give the family the peace they deserve.

Just flipped on Shep Smith and Peruvian authorities are now investigating the connection between Joran and two additional women who went missing during the week Joran was in Peru. The women were known to frequent casino's.
