Right here!
So you're not willing to give prayer a chance? The video is astounding. As for me I'll take Craig Venter's god over the old one any day.

No better demonstration of the futility of prayer : Pharyngula

Then there was another heart attack, and another, and another. Pray, pray, pray. Pray some more.

She isn't dead yet. At this point I feel like screaming, "Stop praying! You're killing her!" It sure doesn't seem like they're helping at all. I would call six heart attacks in a row a good reason to admit that no, God doesn't seem to want to stop tormenting this poor woman.

Studies show positive outlook can be beneficial during recovery from illness. If some folks get that by praying and through their faith in God, sounds good to me, whatever works.

Genetic Engineering is really a mixed bag. There's nothing cut-and-dried about it.

There's potentially a huge amount of good that can come from it (particularly in the the area of therapies.)

There's also a huge potential for really poor judgement, bad decisions and accidents.

Overlay all of this with corporate patents on genetic material, differing laws and controls on the process and some hysteria.

Look at how difficult it is for our legal and legislative systems to deal with the relatively minor changes the internet and technology have brought into our lives. How well are they going to deal with GE topics and problems. Talk about the blind leading the blind. The laws will basically be set by the lobbyists with the most purchasing power.

There will be a tremendous amount of good that comes from GE, but there are going to be some really ugly things as well.
