We will be there the 10th of June. Can not wait. We haven't been there in over a year.

The magic week.

This is a riot. At Grayton Beach that week, you will find my family, plus some other SoWallers, plus a crew from Louisville, and whoever else gets sucked into the vortex. C'mon over and play! How old are you kids?

You will like Gulf Place. We've stayed in the Caribbean condos several times. Can get good gulf views from some of the condos, especially 3rd or 4th floor. The lake has turtles, frogs, fish, etc.

Have you rented condos or a beach house? If renting a condo through Resort Quest, ask for gold or platinum units.

There are some nice shops - Amore's Pizza, Smiling Fish Cafe, Miss Lucille's Gossip Parlor and several Artist Kiosks. Bands certain nights in the "amphitheatre".

We stayed at Old Florida Cottages in November and walked the beach in front of Gulf Place. Was nice at that time. Of course there were the eroded dunes and some geotubes going in.

Have a great vacation! :D

We are a little concerned about the water conditions. We know it can change from day to day; but the last 3-4 times we have been there it has not been very clear. We have tried spring, summer and fall and we haven't had the greatest of luck. We miss the beautiful clear water. How is it now?

Greetings from Indiana! You'll like the location of Gulf Place...Ed Walline Park is directly across the street and this is a nice public beach access. As mentioned prior, you have Pizza Amore and Smiling Fish restaurant, as well as Miss Lucille's Gossip Parlor for ice cream and breakfast sweets. You can also walk to Goatfeather's (seafood) just down the street. Gulf Place itself is a really nice community.

You will love it! Gulf Place Carribean is a great location. We've stayed there several times. Your patio will open right out onto the pool if you're in the center of the building. Otherwise there will be a little path that is just steps to the Carribean pool. And be sure to check out the pool just North of the parking lot at the condos. Take a stroll through the wooded area behind the parking lot and you'll find the shuffle boards and another fabulous pool. This pool is very nicely landscaped and is more scenic. There are actually three pools available to all guests of Gulf Place but most people seem to forget that. In the past there was also a gas grill set up on the deck of this larger pool and we would take a cooler with hot dogs and brats and cook our lunch at the pool while the kids swam.
There are also changing rooms and bathrooms at this pool.
To get to the beach you can walk directly across the street from your condo. There is a sidewalk that leads from the Carribean pool to the crosswalk. (notice the yellow pedestrian sign in the photo) Then cross the street to the boardwalk. Or as mentioned earlier you can walk about 1-2 blocks East and cross to Ed Walline Park. This has a very nice boardwalk with a gazebo style structure on it which is nice for sunsets.
You mentioned the water condition...We spent a week at the Carribean a few years ago and the water was really bad. Murky and lots of weedy floaty thingys. We didn't get in the Gulf much but the pools were great. Then on the last day we drove over to San Destin and the water there was crystal clear. We should have searched out other beaches for swimming earlier. Live and learn. If Gulf Place Beach is not clear, try driving to another public access. You might find a good spot.
Have a great trip! I'm posting a couple pictures of the pool and the top floor view from our balcony.

for the whole 2 weeks we were there the water was crystal clear for the most part, except for a couple of days after severe storms overnight.
