JIF is made by P&G, Skippy by CPC and Peter Pan and Wal-mart brand are made by Conagra.

And yes some factories do make multiple products under different brand names, some generic cereal places also make dry dog food.
i swear the jar and cap/label are exactly the same

i work for the country's largest meat company and we literally stop the line, remove the expensive brand label from the label machine, load the store brand label, and begin running the line again.
My husband was in Mexico a few years ago looking for a manufacturing site and visited a clothing manufacturer. The same men's khaki pants were going to Polo Ralph Lauren and Wal-Mart.

I may be crazy but something just isn't right about WalMeat. To me, it looks weird and cooks even weirder.

Say what you want, but I always buy Publix brand over name brand.

If you feel that you are somehow getting an inferior product in a grocery store just because it is store brand, read the label. It's usually word for word the same, and in some cases the store brand is "healthier" because they don't use the dyes and preservatives that name brand companies use.

That and Publix has funn with. Read the sayings on some of the boxes. The animal crackers are probably the funniest.

Now I want to run out and buy some animal crackers!

I agree that one can probably not tell a difference in products. In all honestly, I could never tell the difference in the paper either. (Although some printers swore that the first run of the morning from machine #67 worked best on their printing presses! So, i guess some people can tell!) But I just wanted to point out that just because the same company makes them, it doesn't mean they are exactly the same. You have to judge by trial and error!
