Walton County is Republican Country

With 33 of 33 precincts reporting the Republican ticket in Walton County was the overwhelming victor. McCain carried 72% of the vote and almost every Republican carried over 60%. Adkinson won a contested Sheriff's race with 63% of the vote. The lone disappointment was Robert Nelson's narrow defeat in the School Board Race. Congrats to all the candidates.

P.S. Amendment 2 won 75% of the vote in Walton County.

I do feel great comfort knowing that here on the Emerald Coast at least I am surrounded by like minded friends. Now I will go back to gaining perspective.

Unlike the 90% of voters, my focus in this election (National) is that of National Security, not the finances. I am hurting financially, just as others are. I am willing to suck it up (for now) as long as my Country is Safe. I am not sure about my Country, but now I do know about my County.

Our Country is not safe, our finances are not safe...but we will have free healthcare in exchange for higher taxes!

The Watcher, you can always join Obama's Civilian Security Force, which will be as strong and as well-funded as our military. That will make our country safe, supposedly. I'll take freedom over safety, any day of the week. Gov't cannot make you safe. Think about it, a tree limb could fall on your head and kill you in an instant. A car can cross the center-line, and quicker than you can dial 911, you could be dead. Forget safety, unless of course you are building something, and then, think, "Safety First," using eye and body protection.

There are no red counties, and no blue counties. There is no north county and no south county. There is Walton County, and we are all part of this community and we all want to see it be the best county it can be.

The country repudiated Rovian divisiveness and hyper-partisanship last night...may we soon follow suit in Walton County.
