Important Reminders:

- We know some of you are anxious to vote, but mail ballots are not yet ready. This is normal. For those with a request on file, you can expect to receive your Vote-by-Mail (absentee) ballot around the first week in October. Request a ballot at votewalton.com/request.

- Mail ballots may be tracked online through the entire process at votewalton.com/track, or by calling (850) 892-8112. There is no need to go to a polling place just to verify your mail ballot has been received in the elections office.

- Ballot drop boxes are available 24/7 outside of both elections office locations, and also at early voting locations during voting hours. Visit votewalton.com/dropbox.

- You can only vote once; by mail or in person. Our system blocks against double voting in real time. (Mail ballots are considered “cast” when received by the elections office or placed in a drop box.)

- Mail ballots are typically canvassed on or before Election Day and included in the initial results on Election Night.

- Early and Election Day polling places will be open as normal with extra safety measures. Early in-person voting will be October 24-31 at 4 locations and is a good opportunity to avoid the Election Day crowds. Election Day voting is at your home precinct’s polling place on Nov 3.

Registration deadline for new voters in Florida:
October 5th

If you are voting by mail, you have several options for returning your voted ballot.

1 - Hand-deliver your ballot back to one of the elections offices during normal office hours.
2 - Take advantage of our secure drop boxes located right outside the main entrance to each office building. The secure drop boxes are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
3 - Return your voted mail ballot to a secure drop box in either of the 4 early voting locations during early voting hours on October 24th-31st.
4 - Return your ballot through the US Postal Service. Remember to give your ballot plenty of mailing time to be received in a timely manner.
Mail ballots must be returned in the Elections Office by Election Day, November 3rd, at 7:00 pm to be counted. For more info, visit votewalton.com/dropbox.

Monday, October 5th, is the last day for new Florida voters to register to vote and be eligible to vote in the General Election. If you are new to Florida, you must re-register in this state. If you will be turning 18 on or before Election Day, you can pre-register to vote but must do so by October 5th. If you are already registered to vote and need to make an update, you can still do so after October 5th. Visit VoteWalton.com to register, update, or check your status.

Check it out! We have already reached a 10% voter turnout for the 2020 General Election. Over 5,800 Vote-by-Mail ballots have already been received in our office.

Ballots must be received in our office by Election Day, November 3rd at 7:00 pm.

You can track your ballot status at votewalton.com/track. Ballots that have been received will show as “Counted” on October 21st, after they have been canvassed.

Early voting dates, times, and locations: votewalton.com/early

Reminder: Please be prepared to vote when you arrive. Study your sample ballot and check your registration status in advance. Have your photo signature ID ready. You may bring a sample ballot with you to help you mark your official ballot faster. We expect there to be heavy volumes of voters at times, especially as polls open. Extra safety measures will also be in place. The process could take a little longer than usual. If you want to come when there are less crowds, our less busy times have historically been on Sunday afternoons and during the mid-week days. Happy voting!

Update Oct 24: Day 1 Early Voting

Wow! You blew us away today Walton County! The turnout for early voting was an amazing site to see! Nearly 3,900 voters voted today, not including hundreds of mail ballots that were returned to be counted. Thank you to those who showed up early and waited this morning, even in the rain. Your patriotism is commended and admired. We also wanted to say thank you to everyone for all the kind comments to the dedicated poll workers and staff. We appreciate it and it keeps our spirits high.

Early voting continues tomorrow, Sunday, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tell your friends. Sunday afternoons are historically less crowded. We look forward to seeing you! votewalton.com/early

LAST CALL! Saturday, October 31st, is the LAST DAY to vote early in person before Election Day on Tuesday, November 3rd. Early voting is at 4 locations from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
