Walton Cty. just opened up Eastern lake

Can somebody tell me if Eastern Lake is open right now? Thanks in advance.

BTW - I saw a Walton County Beach Permit on a Landrover in ATL morning traffic. No SoWal sticker, but fun to see nonetheless.

I was out of town or would have replied sooner. The waves were so huge the last few days and the wind so strong, had delayed walking down to check outfall. It was open last week before I went on a Spring Break trip to Texas. It was closed yesterday morning. I'll post a picture soon. Should be able to open on its own as the lake fills back up since the sand bar isn't too high. Long opening enabled the lake outflow to cut through quite a bit of sand. Hopefully, it will open on its own in good time and there won't be a need for what started this particular thread.

Picture of Eastern Lake closed on March 23, 2010. By the way, see those chairs on the left. They were left out and close to the gulf and outfall. Heads up to the company to please not leave them out like this. It is a wonder with the strong tides and wind that they weren't washed into the outfall or gulf.
