Though there is actually quite a bit of abandoned military hardware in spots when you get closer to where Eglin is active, and every so often someone digs up something interesting.

Also if you want to get an Eglin reservation recreation or hunting permit, you have to sit through a video on "Unexploded Ordianance and You" for liability reasons. (all I wanted to do was have a legal right to use White Point Beach)

I still think it's not a bad idea to let people believe there are old land mines in the dunes. ;-) Might be the dunes best protection from white shirts and photographers.

I hear you. Between Eglin AFB and Tyndell AFB, and World War II staging in the area, there just may be a few bombs floating around.
