Here is a skit from Hannity last night that left me scratching my head. I am trying to find video or a transcript of the conversation between Sean and his guests because that is the part that really surprised me...

This is the problem.... Too many Americans listen to the Media and the Government and just assume everything they say is true. When the truth is not always as it seems. It is time for the people of America to get involved in what Washington is doing to our nation. In the past 8 months we have gone trillions of dollars in debt, our government is trying to rule every fragment of our lives. From what cars we buy to what homes we buy to now deciding what doctors we can go to. Yes, there are millions of people who don't have health insurance. But why not? How many of those millions of people have jobs? How many of those millions of people want jobs? How many of those millions of people are happy to receive their Welfare checks and allow the rest of us hard working Americans to pay their bills? How many of those people have inherited bad behaviors and don't know any better. If government really wants to do something to make our Nation more prosperious, teach our generations to be responsible for themselves. It's not my responsibility to pay your mortgage, it's not my responsibility to pay off your credit card bills. Stop spending money you don't have. Learn and teach what NO means. It's very liberating....
There is a reason the average American is in an uproar over this over 1000 page Health Care bill. Have you taken the time to try to read it? It's horribly written, and it is not realistic. Why do you think there are so many people flocking to the town hall meetings to be heard. GOVERNMENT is suppose to work for us. They have a responsibility to listen to us. Do I believe there could be reform in health care, yes, but why is Washington so afraid to let us be involved in the process. Have you watched any of the coverage from the Town hall meetings. People all over the nation are passionate about this issue. Why do you feel the need to mock those of us who care about the legacy we will leave to the future. NO I did not vote for Obama, but I remain on the Presidential Prayer Team, and pray for him. Wake up, educate yourself! Stop relying on CNN to tell you what's going on. For years they called Michael Jackson a Child Molester, now they call him KING. Wake up people, it's time to get involved and informed.

About half of what you say is solid. I agree with the part that Americans need to wake up and educate themselves and that they shouldn't believe everything the media and the gov't says. I don't like the bill either. And I believe MJ engaged in inappropriate behavior with kids. But disagree with the rest of it-

No one is mocking you. Washington *does* want us involved. Gov't *doesn't* want to rule every aspect of your life. The majority of welfare recipients *aren't* lazy or happy to collect. The average American is *not* in an uproar over health care reform.

thanks for your viewpoint. most everyone here sees the flaws of the media, in that they sell to their target audience. the problem i have with your logic is that the truth you are referring to is your viewpoint, hence the attack on cnn. the media outlets first mission is to make money by garnering as large an audience as possible. that's why you have the dog and pony shows posing as news. it cuts both ways ideologically speaking. most of those yelling and screaming at town hall meetings have more emotion than reason.

I have a moldy old B.S. degree, but I find this post fascinating and important. Thanks for taking the time to post, Mike. The idea that a certain school or degree makes one's ideas more relevant or true, is elitist, at best. There, I said elitist.

When and only when people can think for themselves and not use a political party's platforms as their only means of defense will we have a chance, imo. People...stand up and be counted!!
good point, but when a news organization throws it's weight behind a personality, wouldn't you think a solid formal education would be a desirable trait given the thousands of hours that personality will be spewing his opinion?

Oh, Geo, they do mock us. Here, and in the media. You cannot say that for some welfare recipients it is not a way of life even if it is a small minority. The rest is "poetic license", IMO.
