Seeing a barf smilie post on this thread makes me sad.
I have a well developed sense of humor, am able to laugh at quirky gay behavior and can't stand *too much* political correctness.
But between the ambush documentary photographs and some of the jokes posted, I begin to think that unless English is your first language, you have a white collar job, you are heterosexual, buff and below 160 pounds, Christian and white, y'all have no place around these here parts.
I'm ready for either the jokes about how-many-neurotic-leftist-hippies-does-it-take-to-change-a-lightbulb or maybe the how-many-Southern-Baptists-does-it-take-to-change-a-lightbulb.

Cil, I must respectfully disagree. I think the distaste over that photograph is more about the inapropriateness of the gesture. It's not seemly to grope one's partner in public, irrespective of whether that partner is of the same sex or not. It's bad manners all around, and shouldn't be done. I might walk the beach hand-in-hand with my husband, but you better believe he has more decorum than to squeeze my tush when there are other people around (and even if there's not, not when we're in public).

Oh wow, I couldn't agree more. It does get tiresome. But then again, this is an open forum and everyone has their opinions, as it should be in this country, but it is sad.

And Mermaid, I can well appreciate what you are saying, PDAs can be kinda gross. But I almost have more distaste for the voyeuristic documentation than the actual behavior.
I understand the photos are the next thing to being there, though. ;-)
