I spent more than six hours on the phone with Alltel's technical support, stretched out over a week. Now, I use my Blackberry as a tethered modem for an additional $10 per month. It works for either of my computers, and is good to go anywhere I pick up a cell signal.

I was wondering about how you were going to get hooked up. I moved from Sowal up the street 50 miles, out in the middle of the woods in BFE and was told we'll have high speed internet any day now...for the last 12 years! Still waiting.

I'm starting to look into Sprint Wireless and now DISH offers high speed. AOL wanted over $700 to hook up their version....NOT.

Meanwhile I've been schlepping the laptop out and about town to various coffee houses any time I need to work on my Website.

All of the cell companies have wireless now. Most have a 15-day trial. If you can't get a good signal it will be slow.
