The southern border with Mexico is 1933 miles long. How long would building a wall take and how much would it cost. Any business man would want to know the answer to those questions. Any person with a conscience would feel compassion toward the reasons why so many want a better quality of life. If you leave the politics out of this and use common sense it will at least begin to solve those problems or at least recognize that this is not as simple as building a wall.
$27,000,000 per miles not including maintenance costs.
trump said it would be “impenetrable” and “world-class mountain climbers” had trouble scaling it.
Mexicans with $5.00 ladders scale it and others have cut through it with portable tools thousands of times.

The way it sounds American construction companies may be giving them the ladders :)

I think the notion that a wall fixes the immigration problem is over simplified on many levels. It misses the point that we Americans want and need labor and are willing to hire illegal migrant labor is part of the problem if not the entire problem. The people living South of our border have a chaotic economy and poor quality of life. Of course they want a better way of life. They are human beings. I believe it is morally wrong (selfish and greed) to say yes come work for me but not your entire family. Listen I am a business person and I know how it works in terms of migrant labor and how they use the money they make from American businesses. I also know that a wall will not solve all the problems. It is not cost effective. The only thing cost effective to solve this problem will be to get them on our tax roll and have them pay for their healthcare and education. That will take a huge bipartisan support. Well Biden is up against people who enjoy the game of political division and an image of crime and disease is ALL that is coming across the border. There is no common sense in building a wall. The common sense is that we stop fighting each other and demand that the people we elect solve this problem.
Did you want to wall when Obama and Biden were building it before? Of coarse a wall works but it does not fix immigration, show me one place in this world that needs to be secured that doesn't have a wall, this isn't a new or complex issue. Without securing our border we cannot control who comes in. I do not know of anyone that wants to separate families. The long term cost of not doing the wall is the real question. The push back from the GOP is that biden wants to try to fix things out of order. First you secure the border then you work on immigration, if the border isn't secure then nothing else matters. To say there is no common sense in building a wall is ridiculous and its your opinion. We strongly disagree on a wall

Its funny to hear someone on the left talk about fiscal responsibility, it seems like biden can't give away money we don't have quick enough, just my opinion. Some times it doesn't matter what something will cost you just need to do it. We agree on compassion. No one said building a wall solves our immigration problem but there is no immigration fix without a secure border. Give me any immigration plan and it will be easy to prove that it will not work without a secure border. Side bar question: Why did taxpayers spend almost $500k to build a fence around Bidens beach home? Especially since the consensus here is they don't work and they aren't worth building? Just for some context look up how bid Bidens property is is you want to start talking about price per length

Another little nugget, just because biden stopped the border wall doesn't mean the taxpayers aren't still paying for it . They are still producing the wall panels as we speak because they have to honor their contracts and our government has to pay them, same goes for the pipeline.

Just to be clear I am not the "left" or the "right". I am a human being that tries to think with common sense. I think most all of us are generally in the middle until someone with an end game to abuse power manipulates us into fear and anger. Go ahead and let politics manipulate those emotions. All I know is that it is hard to see the common sense in anything when you are fearful and angry. We all have that in common and those who abuse power will keep using it against us. Until we figure that out I doubt any one man or political party will solve the border problems...

Trump is the exact opposite of fiscal responsibility. Many Crashed ventures and bankruptcies is not how you define fiscal responsibility :)
