It is that uncompromising principle that is exactly opposite of the intelligence and wisdom of our founders. We have a republic that is trying to be a representative democracy. A republic allows elected officials to represent the voters. Elected officials have a duty to represent the will of the voters. Officials win elections but still have accountability to the voters. If officials are not accountable voters have a responsibility to elect others to represent. Close elections have become an issue because voters begin to distrust the system when we have ego driven maniacs telling us to distrust the system. Is Joe Biden telling you to distrust the electoral system? Did Donald Trump tell you to distrust the system after he won the election with Clinton? I have a simple question. Who is telling you not to trust our representative democracy, our republic and our changing world? Hint: One lost an election, another lost a job and others have been put in jail for all sorts of seedy behaviors.

Yes we have work to do in our representative democracy. First thing is to stop making enemies. Believe it or not I am not your enemy. I am not defined by left and right politics. I am sure there are things we can agree on. I am sure there are things we will never agree on. That is the journey of a democracy. You roll toward egotism. A belief that you are better than most and have all the answers. If you can't be honest with yourself I doubt you can be honest at all. Maybe you should call your blow up doll King Louy!
