I think that is hypocritical view. Politics plays a part in all law enforcement. Most LEOs just want to do the job and yes there are a few that have to do the political stuff. The LEOs who were at the Capitol on January 6th, FBI/ Justice Department performing investigations to State LEOs being assigned to ferret out voters who "weren't allowed to vote" to Local LEOs who may or may not do the politics of those that hire them. former President Trump reminds me of the Sovereign Citizens who feel that laws don't apply to them but will certainly demonize a whole class of professionals just trying to do their job.
As an aside, I believe everyone is innocent until proven otherwise and also believe the judicial system is what we rely on to deal with it. I also believe that mistakes can be made and innocent people are convicted.
