Humans are weird. They want everything to be better and yet they are self destructive. The last thing they want is someone restricting their "GOD given right" to pump out babies. And yet population control is the highest form of self protection and common sense. Surely the capitalists would fight it tooth and nail. Can't curb consumer numbers.
All once again comes down to greed.
I believe humans are greedy, charitable, right, wrong, compassionate, indifferent, constructive, destructive...
Good behavior and bad behavior are choices. Choices that are made with emotion may be right or may be wrong. Choices made with reason is more likely to be associated with good. Truth is not a constant but the more we reason with truth the better choices we make and therefore we get closer to good or "right".
I am not sure what a "God given right" is but I think it has something to do with what a male human wrote down on paper from hearsay or emotion many years removed from the actual event and has more to do with faith than reality. I do believe that Faith has value and requires both reason and emotion. I also believe Faith can lead to destructive behavior and is not always "good".
The bottom line is "politics" is generally destructive and "civil conversation" is constructive. Humans do want to be better and as the song says "I have a long ways to go and a short time to get there"
