I guess I am the one who will try to remember what I can about our trip this past Tuesday.
I was the first to arrive to the Horeshoe Casino . Kitty and DD were quite a bit behind me and the burger palace? was calling their name. So I decided to look around a bit. The Hotel was beautiful and clean. Not as big as the Beau on the Miss Gulf coast but it would do. I decided to go to the boardwalk shopping area next door. It reminded me of a big Destin Commons. It was waaaaaay too HOT so I headed back to chill in the room. Kitty and DD arived about 2 hours later...
We got dolled up as much as we could and headed to the casino. Mind you that this casino is a barge but I did not even realize or think about it. There was a MILLION dollars on the wall and funny thing people were always loooking at it and talking to themselves. We wanted to take a photo but cameras were not allowed and we did not want the popo coming for us. We blew about $20 a piece and then headed to the watering hole. Kitty and I had the "red drink" and DD a mixed cocktail of some sort. God love them they put a huge bowl of pork skins in front of me and the laughing began. We decided to head to the concert.
DD was a good navigator and Kitty (toonces) a good driver. We parked, and stood in line. I was amazed but they actually wanted to check cameras to see if any video could be taken. Not phones but cameras. :roll:Well, DD was GOING to get a photo of Michael J so I, being the good friend that I am, used my cleavage to hide the camera. Poor DD, boob sweat on her camera all for a photo of MJ.
After purchasing cocktails, snacks and tinkling we headed to our seats. THey were good but dang, no leg room! We watched the first 6 performers and then an intermission was given. Thank GOD! Oh, the performers, good, Michael was DD's fave and Carley was good to me as well. Kitty and DD will have to go more in depth b/c this lady sitting by me was on her phone the whole time and
. After a tinkle break I suggested that we move seats. Kitty obliged me even though she is a rule follower. It was opposite the stage and we could look head on instead of having our heads turned the whole time. Jason, syesha and David Cook rocked the house. David Ouchmyheadhurts seemed to go on and on and on....Sorry the boy does not do it for me at all.
Now the funn part, leaving the cattle rattle of cars. Kitty, well, she got in the wrong lane and it was not by choice. There were 2 lanes leaving the venue. One had a stop sign (ours) and the other one did not. So, do you think the people who did not have a stop sign play nice? No, they did not. We inched along and Kitty felt bad for not letting others in. Finally we decided that we were not going to make any eye contact with them and we were finally getting close to the front.
About that time "boudreaux" arrived. He was the "traffic cop". We cheered him on as he let us pass. I was in the back seat laughing to the point of tears b/c I kept picturing Toonces and Miss Kitty fit the bill. I think a haiku was created:
Traffic did not stop
Mad Kitty screaming wildly
Boudreaux saved the day
It aint Beach Sio but we were proud...
OK< time to gamble. We played some with slots, quarters mainly. I think I ended up with $50? I am not sure on the status of their $$ that night. The slots were pretty loose. Better than some I have seen. We were amazed at the amount of people there on a Tuesday night. On the way out of the casino I put my $$ in a very large 1$ slot. I hit and made $30 more $.
More for tommorow. We decided to stop around 1 am to eat dinner. But first, a bad habit break.
While sitting outside a man approached us. He stated that he needed $72.57 or some amount like that. He said that he needed it for a cab fare? for his church. Kitty told him that we lost all our money.
The valet guy came to us to see if he was asking us for money. We said yes and the valet guy said ok, thanks. The next thing we know the popo was there and they were going to give that nice man a room, warm meal, new jewelry and maybe even a new boyfriend. It seems that this man is a regular and has been warned many times. After watching the scene and your truely singing the "bad boys, bad boys what ya gonna do song" we decided to go and find some grub.
While waiting
blink: at 1
o in the morning) for a table this poor lady who had been overserved came to us and started talking. I swear I think she wanted to sit with us. SOmehow we diverted her and took our seat. We all ordered clubs which were delish. We headed to our nice room to crash.
When we walked into the "meat locker" we discovered that we had no WATER.
After I made a few phone calls we discovered that this was a scheduled event in which we did not get the memo. We dealt with it and crashed. The hotel compted part of our room so that more than made up for it. I slept on the couch which was very comfortable, IMO.
The next morning Kitty and DD had walked around, gambled, and who knows what else before I even opened my eyes.
Not having a child, or pet waking you up is a good thing every once in a while. I went to meet them in the casino. DD and Kitty were rolling on a quarter slot and I found one of the 1 cent "pretty machines". These are the ones that are computer graphics and have sounds and you can also interact with them. DD and Kitty found me and watched me for a while, then DD had to play. We got so involved that we forgot to check out. Thank goodness they gave us an extra hour. We packed and then decided to gorge ourselves on an 8,754 calorie lunch.
What a buffet, you know the kind. EVERYTHING YOU WANT AND MORE! I think the chocolate covered strawberries were the best, well worth my $13. Kitty and DD got their $$ worth also, even though it was cheaper. ;-) Kitty can tell that story.
We decided that we really needed to gamble again. So off again we went. I found another penny machine, the golden monkey which treated me right. It paid for my concert ticket and all my gas...
I decided that I guess I better be headed back home as it was 3:00. I left them there with a debit card and an ATM.
Sorry this was long, I am sure everyone has been dying for our story.
