On the Sanibel leg of your trip, there's a ferry that runs from Fort Myers to Key West, allowing you to make it a day trip if you wanted. Key West Express provides passenger ferry service from Fl gulf coast to Key West

And we loved Boca Grande, where much of the movie Hoot was filmed. Nice little lunch place right on the water. That's where we saw our first manatee in the wild. But be warned; the island is full of iguanas (or was a few years ago, anyway)!

In Fort Lauderdale, there's a steamed crab place near the IGFA (International Game Fish Assoc) Museum. The male Critters are salt-water fishing enthusiasts, so they got a kick out of that.

I wish you could but since you can't, should I collect some good shells for you on Sanibel? (and did someone sing your favorite song on your birthday, btw?)


Why didn't I think of that? We looooooove good Jewish deli food and outside of NYC, I don't think you could go wrong with Miami. I'll look up any reviews for Wolfie Cohen's. Thank you!
