Every day I make the turn off of 98 heading east onto the west end of 30-A and I am always amazed at how many signs are posted in the first 2 blocks. This intersection is the Gateway to 30-A and there seems to be know one concerned of what a eye sore all of the signs are. There must be 5 No Parking signs, a couple of Share the Road with Bikes signs and a bunch of other postings. The new Scenic Higway sign is lost in all of the clutter. The signs are also in very poor shape. A couple are about to fall over and a couple of others look like they are about to rust through. Who can we contact to get this fixed?? Maybe the folks at TopSail State can help? We really need to make this part of 30-A shine! It would nice to get the landscaping up to par with the rest of our Scenic Hwy.

Boy, I am glad I got this off my chest! Now we need to see some improvements!!!

i noticed the same thing, and you're definitely correct about the new scenic highway sign being lost in the mess. i would think the scenic highway group would be all over this.

I agree there is too much signage on 30A.
For a scenic corridor it's almost a joke.
I've even noticed commercial businesses placing tractor equipment and trucks for sale in the front of their offices.
Then there's the unfinished developments that have left their debris behind for us to look at as we drive down 30A.
Hopefully the county will tighten up before spring and get some of this mess removed or cleaned up before the vacationers come back.

There's got to be something done!

The current ones are provided and maintained by the County and State of Florida. The new ones will be provided and maintained by the TDC. Unfortunately the new ones will be maintained much better, only making the existing signs look worse by comparison.

I'm pretty sure that a complaint letter to our local state representative about the state maintained signs would get a fairly quick response since we are now a Scenic highway.

It seriously looks like a sign manufacturer who puts a sample of every possible product in their yard! They can't be required as 395 has a fraction of the signage when you turn off 98.

Why exactly do we need 4 "no parking" signs in a stretch w/ no businesses or homes?

Couldn't some of the signs share a pole? (or disappear FTLOG)

No parking signs are actually pretty common outside of state park entrances. Especially when they allow camping. Unfortunately those that drive land yachts don't realize they can still get into the park after hours. So they spend the night on the side of the road which can be incredibly dangerous.
